most economists admit that 2010 will most likely be a year of slow economic recovery in the United States. During this year, the country will begin to digest the ramifications of the health care reform package, and many employers will position themselves to take advantage of the newly defined “health care landscape”.

There is little doubt that continued high unemployment rates will have a major impact on the 2010 mid-term elections, and may hamper Obama’s ability to accomplish other major campaign initiatives. The unexpectedly bad “jobs report” released by the Department of Labor on Friday came as no surprise to the Obama Administration, who has warned all along that the recession would most likely impact the economy for the rest of 2009 and probably most of 2010.
