While most of the long-suffering population of North Korea went hungry, and while they were sitting in the dark in their government provided, barracks-style apartments, ailing dictator Kim Jong-Il threw a giant party for the country’s  elite.  The celebrations included a massive military parade,  intended to show off North Korea’s latest weaponry (primarily Russian made), and lots of goose-stepping soldiers, dressed up in their finest uniforms.  Even the foreign press was invited to attend the celebration, although  carefully monitored to ensure nobody  got a glimpse of …

North Korean people continue to starve, the South Koreans continue to tolerate acts of aggression, and the world continues to watch as Kim Jong Il develops ever more powerful weapons of mass destruction.
