America’s official unemployment rate hasn’t budged much over the last couple of years  from a level of around 9.5%.  The plain truth is that the economy has  only been growing at a paltry rate of 2% (or less), which is not near enough to  make  a significant dent in unemployment.  Thanks mainly to the Obama Administration and Democratic Congressional support, the legion of the unemployed have found  solace in extended unemployment benefits that have provided up to ninety-nine weeks of financial relief.  Although certain sectors of …

At the local level, the governor and state assemblies are granted powers under the federal constitution to manage their own affairs, so long as they don’t interfere with rights granted under that constitution. When, however, a minority of senators from various states are granted the power to thwart the will of the majority of American people, a line has been crossed that forms a border between good, representative government and gridlock.
