On April 15 the Republicans, along with conservative Fox News Channel, staged a ridiculous “tea party” protest against excessive taxation and bloated government spending.  Their feeble attempt to regain some respect for the largely discredited Republican Party was almost laughable.  The idea behind the protest was to blame the Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats for the huge government deficits and the onerous level of taxation facing the American people.
