It looks like Speaker of the House John Boehner is up to his old tricks again, threatening to block an increase in the federal debt limit ceiling without obtaining significant new cuts in spending.  There is little doubt that the last two years, which resulted in over $1.0  trillion per year in deficit spending, will bring the country close to …

Bin Laden Speaks to America

Submitted by on September 15, 2009 – 1:19 pm8 Comments | 0 views

One of the few things that is predictable about Osama Bin Laden is that he will deliver an address to the “American People” every year, right around September 11.  This year is no exception.  On Sunday, two days after the eighth anniversary of al-Qaeda’s infamous attacks on The World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon, Bin Laden reminded Americans that the attacks were the result of U.S. support of Israel and the “occupation of Palestine”.  In this year’s address, he taunted the Obama Administration by claiming the new President was blindly following the strategies of George W. Bush, and that he was “powerless” to end the war.  Bin Laden further promised that the war in Afghanistan would be a “war of attrition” for whatever length of time was necessary to ensure an al-Qaeda victory.

Bin Laden’s eleven minute address contained, for the most part, the usual sabre rattling and Islamo-fascist propaganda.  Nothing new was proposed, nor was there any hint that al-Qaeda was  prepared to compromise its stated goal of destroying Israel and punishing anyone who comes to her assistance.  There is little doubt that Bin Laden has been emboldened by the failure of NATO forces to find and kill him, and by the growth of al-Qaeda’s strength throughout the region.

Bin Laden is clearly a terrorist of the highest caliber, and his al-Qaeda Organization has spread pain and suffering over the world for a very long time.  Unfortunately, his goals of eliminating the State of Israel and restoring Palestine resound very favorably with most of the Middle Eastern nations.  It is for this reason that the U.S. and other NATO countries will never be able to garner the cooperation of Middle Eastern nations in either capturing Bin Laden or destroying al-Qaeda.  Without the cooperation of these populations, the mission of the U.S. in Afghanistan is doomed to failure.  In a very real sense, the U.S. military operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan have not been about a “war of terrorism”, but about the protection and survival of Israel.  And both sides know it!

  • Forgive Me, I know this is crass but I just have to say it.

“will the real osama please stand up, please stand up, please stand up..”

    yes I was quoting Eminem.

I no more believe in Osama Bin Laden than Santa Claus.
the fact is this is another Kaiser Slozak. from the movie

” has anyone ever seen Kaiser Slozak ? the best trick the devil ever did was to convince you that he doesn’t exist”

do you remember that line ? we all do.

Well this year it was 11 minutes. A few years ago it was 4 or 5 different people speaking with his #2 guy going on for over 90 minutes. I have read analysis of this speech that indicates OBL and his organization aren’t doing so well and have nothing new to announce.

    And, BTW, it’s Keyser Söze!

    Re,
I think that Osama Bin Laden is all too real, and conducting terrorist operations from his hideout in Afghanistan. The CIA has methods for authenticating voice patterns taken from audio recordings that are very accurate. No one has come right out and said that Bin Laden’s lastest recording is a fraud. Of course, I suppose it is possible that the CIA is (for some reason) concealing information about the authenticity of the recordings.

    Harrison,
According to some analysts, al-Qaeda is becoming somewhat fragmented, and that Bin Laden does not wield the power and influence he once did. However, as an organization al-Qaeda is well funded, well armed and well manned. The point is that regardless of the status of Bin Laden, the main organizational goal remains the same; the distruction of Israel.
BTW, I knew who Re was referring to, without correction!

  • Harrison says:

al Qaeda, like almost every Islamic group, seeks the destruction of Israel. Bullets are the main thing that will help hurting al Qaeda.

    Harrison,
Do they have to be American bullets and American lives?

  • Harrison says:

Who else would you suggest? And the Russian 7.62×39 round works much better than the American 5.56 one but national pride forbids us from using it.

  • admin says:

    Harrison,
Here’s a novel idea: why not let the nations in the region handle the problems created by their own bad neighbors. I’m quite sure that if the Taliban and al-Qaeda started creating problems in Iran the Iranian army would deal very effectively with them.
