It looks like Speaker of the House John Boehner is up to his old tricks again, threatening to block an increase in the federal debt limit ceiling without obtaining significant new cuts in spending.  There is little doubt that the last two years, which resulted in over $1.0  trillion per year in deficit spending, will bring the country close to …

Go To Your Room, Dick Cheney

Submitted by on May 14, 2009 – 11:10 am11 Comments | 0 views

Will someone please advise this man that his term has ended? Even when he was VP he became a bane that George Bush could not tolerate without cracking jokes. I held off writing about Cheney because I did not want to give him the attention he so desperately seeks or the appeasement he will never receive. I’m just a lowly blogger, but count me in on this verbal spanking of Dick Cheney. He is a danger to himself and others.

Against all evidence and public perception, Cheney still maintains that waterboarding is not torture. The other night I watched Larry King do an interview with Jesse Ventura, the former Navy Seal, turned surfer. Say what you will about Jesse Ventura, but when he feels strongly about something he frames his thoughts in a no-holds-barred grip. In response to a question posed by King regarding Cheney and waterboarding, Ventura stated, “You give me a waterboard, Dick Cheney, and one hour, and I’ll have him confess to the Sharon Tate murders.” Jesse Ventura, the former Navy Seal, had me on my feet cheering. Imagine that.

President Obama is traveling the globe in a valiant effort to re-introduce our American values. We care about other countries; we want to be part of the global community, and we have values. We do, in fact, believe in human rights. While Obama is like a stealth trying to ward off the disastrous consequences of our previous administration, Cheney continues the self-righteous promotion of his approval of torture and undermines the very issues Obama is trying to salve.

With his own Republican party fomenting in an identity crisis, Cheney continues to alienate. For him to denigrate Colin Powell, a four-star general who has served his country with bravery, grace and dignity, is an act which should be punishable by expulsion from any party. Lest we forget, Cheney received five deferments to get out of going to Viet Nam, yet he claims he condoned torture in an effort to keep our country safe. Where was Cheney when the snipers were killing our troops in Viet Nam and agent orange was coloring them with cancer?

Well, I’m all riled up now so I have just one thing to say to Mr. Cheney. Go to your room Dick.

Hey Cherlock, did you see my blog today ?
it’s all about that truth problem we seem to be having with our leaders, and yes the pic ontop is DICK, in all his glory.

“Goodness Gracious” he is certainly a lil dumplin ain’t he.
that’s okay I think instead of water we should Tabasco sauce and bbq sauce board his ass, then pull that pork and serve it to the starving masses in countries he’s slaughtered.

    could you imagine the revolt that might occur if we left off the side dishes of BushSlaw; and Rice and Rumsfeldnuts;

it would feed the hungry masses for miles..

btw, is your entrecard receiving drops today ?
mine hasn’t on either card – something seems wrong.

    My gal Re!
Yes I have been at your site three times today. Lawd, it is addictive. You are quite the entrepreneur, aren’t you? It is so wonderful to see a woman who is such a success. Go for the gusto, girl!

Great ideas for Dick, by the way, especially the bbq sauce. You are enabling me to be sooo bad. Ain’t life grand!

Not sure about EC. I dropped almost 100 but coming in…well, a bit slow. Check your sites. I dropped two.

Cheney is the only one out there telling the other side of the story. When Obama released “torture” memos the results section was blacked out. Cheney was one of the few to say “hey you left out what the results were.” I’m all in favor of him talking. After all, when Clinton left office it’s not like Al Gore kept quiet about Bush.

Besides, now that we have Cheney’s point of view we have people like, uh, Pelosi being exposed for the coward/liar she is.

The truth is the truth regardless of who says it and that should be our focus.

  • lvs says:

I guess some people stay in the news and the only sane way for us is to ignore them.

  • admin says:

    Harrison,
You may have a good point about Pelosi, I must admit. She is tap dancing all over the place and each time her answer is different.

One of my many problems with Cheney is that he was and is opposed to the closing of Gitmo, the ultimate torture chamber. It was a pox then and I will never condone what was done there with his full approval.

At least Bush has the decorum to fade into the background. Obama must sink or swim on his own now and stabs from Cheney only look as though he his trying to redeem himself, not the country.

  • admin says:

    Ivs,
It is hard to ignore a man like Cheney who is in our face every day and promoted by the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity, who have zero credence with me.

  • Harrison says:

Gitmo will be Gitmo where ever it goes according to what Obama has said except those people will be in the States. Bad move. And Gore spoke out many times when he was done.

Cheney is making valid points I think.

  • admin says:

    Harrison,
Some of those detainees will be in the States for various reasons, but you can bet they won’t be tortured.

  • Harrison says:

They never were tortured. And again, in the Exec. Order Obama signed he left open the door for, as you call it, “torture.”

  • admin says:

    Harrison,
I would bet that waterboarding is not part of that torture. That’s Cheney’s thing.

  • Harrison says:

Oh it’s pretty clear that any techniques can be used. From Obama’s executive order:

    (i) to study and evaluate whether the interrogation practices and techniques in Army Field Manual 2 22.3, when employed by departments or agencies outside the military, provide an appropriate means of acquiring the intelligence necessary to protect the Nation, and, if warranted, to recommend any additional or different guidance for other departments or agencies;
